Chicken with a bandage on leg

Thank you. This was a very hard decision to make. I cried for 2 days over this particular little angel. And was crying again yesterday. I know shes "just a chicken" to everyone around me but she's not to me.

Chicken with a bandage on leg

The guy lives about 45 mins from me. I would drive that to make sure my little one is safe but my husband isn't going for it. At all!

Chicken with a bandage on leg

I couldn't stand by and let a fox kill them all bc of my inability to make sure they have a safe home. :( I can promise you, that's the ONLY reason they were rehomed!

Thank y'all very much. My husband says that I'm too emotionally attached. I guess I just needed someone other than him to tell me no.

Chicken with a bandage on leg

I had 17 chickens. Something tried to pull one of my Bantams through the coop and it broke her leg. She had surgery almost 3 weeks ago. A fox got 2 of my babies and my husband and I decided to rehome the remaining ones bc we can't afford to build a new coop and run to keep them safe. A guy got...

My sweet girl alone at home

She broke her leg and she had pins put in. I'm in Louisiana and it's getting really hot here during the day so I was afraid to put her outside.

My sweet girl alone at home

My baby is having to stay in her kennel in my walk in closet bc of her leg surgery. I feel bad bc she's gonna have to be alone for however long the vet says. I tried getting her out of there and letting her lay on me while I watched a movie but she pooped on me sooo... can't do that anymore...

    Too much mating

You're right. :) I can't get anymore chickens right now even if I wanted to. I came home and one of my babies had her leg broken. I took her to the vet and she's scheduled for surgery in the morning. So, that took all of my extra funds.

    Too much mating

Their backs aren't bad. But one of them has almost no feathers on her neck due to him.

    Too much mating

I have 4 Bantams. One of them is a rooster. I was outside this morning, collecting eggs. And when I let them out, my standard sized rooster and hens ran up the hill like they usually do and the Bantams stay close to the coop. While I was down there, my Bantam rooster raped 1 of my Bantam hens 3...

    Mites, lice, worms, etc..

I'm looking for a way to treat all of my birds for lice, mites, worms, Etc. I'm trying to find something that is healthy for them and won't be hazardous in any way. I know that there are several pesticides in the stores that I can use. I really wanted to try and find something natural. I thought...

    Respiratory infection?

I have a rooster that I'm treating for leg mites. I went into the coop this evening to catch him. He was scared I guess and was breathing hard. After I finally caught him, I could hear a raspy type wheezing in his chest. What do I need to do for him? Thanks
