    Ruptured yolk chick

Chick hatched early before anyone was up to notice the hen pecking and ruptured the yolk before it could be fully absorbed. I quickly removed all of the eggs and placed them into an incubator. Its been sitting in the incubator for a few hours, moving around still and seems to be doing really...

    DUCK EMERGENCY

I was gonna say, the only slugs we have around here are brown or grey and they only get up to about 2 inches long. I can't imagine what kind of monster slug they had have eaten to make such a nasty mess lol.. it was so gross trying to get it out of their mouths it was like a huge booger

    DUCK EMERGENCY

That's what I'm going to do. I left a big pail of water in their house so they can keep drinking if they need to. I was just most worried about them choking on whatever it is in their mouths.

    DUCK EMERGENCY

Like a hand full mixed with the feed, I really only add the corn because they're housed with two roosters. Should I stop giving them corn?

    DUCK EMERGENCY

They're both a year and 5 months old. The only "new birds" are the 4 ducklings we hatched from them, other wise I haven't had any new ducks or chicken recently. They eat layer feed mixed with crack corn, and they are free range. They roam the property.

    DUCK EMERGENCY

No our vet doesnt look at chickens or ducks... I'm reading other posts that are saying they might have eaten slugs but if that's the case i still dont know what to do with them. The ducks are drinking but they still sound like they have a lot of gunk in their throats, I dont want them to choke

    DUCK EMERGENCY

No, I've never seen them eat egg, that's what I thought it was but it's more like mucus than yolk

    DUCK EMERGENCY

I was putting my ducks to bed and both of them have thick slimy yellow goop coming out of their mouths, all stuck to their tongues! I'm having a hard time getting it out. I have no idea what to do, they've been outside grazing and swimming all day acting fine

    Hen gasping and can't stand

Thanks, I've had a really rough year with mareks. Losing more than half of my flock to it. I don't know what I'll do if even my vaccinated birds are dying from this. It's very frustrating..

    Hen gasping and can't stand

Shes still very alert, reacting to things around her. But is just laying there as if she's paralyzed. She kinda kicks her legs a little bit like she wants to get back up but can't. When I sit her up she just flops forward or to the side.

    Hen gasping and can't stand

I found one of my ameraucana hens on the floor of the coop unable to stand up or even hold her self up right. She was still eating and drinking last night but now today she's gasping like she can't breath. She can move her legs but she's very weak. She's a little on the thin side. I can feel her...

    Khaki changing colors

I have two ducks, a male chocolate runner and a female khaki. The khaki has been laying for almost 3 months, and suddenly she's getting these dark feathers? Like dark brown, much darker than the normal "khaki" light brown that she was. This was her last month This is today I'm not worried...

    Hen not acting herself

I noticed today that she had white crust around her vent. I think I saw white in her poop but I didn't think it was a lot. She still doesn't look sickly but she is laying down a lot. Still eating.... I really wish I knew what was wrong with her. Any other suggestions? Anyone please

    Hen not acting herself

At this point I don't see anything wrong with her accept that she's kind of sluggish. She seems normal. Do hens just stop laying sometimes? If she's not acting sickly do you think it would be safe to put her back with the flock, I would hate to have to reintroduce her by herself..

    Hen not acting herself

I can see if that's possible. I separated her from the flock to watch her behavior a little better, mostly because she seemed to be getting stepped on a bit when others were running around. She's doing ok by herself, eating a lot, drinking normally and still alert. She seems fine other than her...

    Hen not acting herself
