If she’s has perked up and the tail is up— she’s not puffed and holding her head in, she’s def laid the egg. I know how relieved you are. I’ve been there :wee
You can give her calcium— by way of calcium tablets or Tums- crush them small enough that she can eat them. I’ve dealt with egg bound hens. I usually do about a 20 mins soak in a warm tub with Epsom salt. Then I put the hen on a towel that’s over a heating pad on low and I leave them undisturbed...
I guess I should have specified that I am looking for what I need to worm with because of the area that I live in. Most people in the areas where we get hot humid rain wood deworm twice a year. With that in mind and the chicken that I have that is somewhat under weight I thought it would be...
I’ve done the natural stuff, ACV, DE and even gave them pumpkin seeds but as much rain and nasty mud as they’ve been in I don’t think the natural methods would help (if they help at all to begin with)
Thank you. I will get the liquid. I live in North Carolina and we have had a lot of hot humid rain and since the weather is now called I thought it would be wise to D worm. I have one I say who is slightly underweight and has had a few egg laying issues. I’ve done everything for them but this
There are 10 in my flock. I don’t have a way for a fecal test my local vet does not perform them. I was going with the pace so I could administer to each chicken individually
hey guys, I’ve been reading the threads for a day now and the older articles read one way versus a few I’ve seen that say something else. As a PREVENTATIVE wormer I was planning on using the fenbendazole paste. I have Wazine but wanted to assure it’s safe to go straight to the paste. My flock...
Yes. Crop looks good. To be on the safe side I did a dose of monistat, fed yogurt and added ACV to the water. Hopefully the wonky egg days are behind her :D
Turns out she was egg bound. After the salt bath I left her alone in a quiet dark room. Came back and she laid an egg. Perked right up after some food and went out to bed in the coop. Had one more odd egg this morning. Looks like they make have been against each other. Hopefully we won’t have...
I’ve got a chicken. 5 months old. I noticed she was acting off when I got home today. Just slower than usual. Not wanting food. Crop is squishy. Like a balloon and we have this in the stool. She’s not pulsing her vent or squatting. At this point should I treat for sour crop?
