I just went and collected eggs. And yes the girl that layed the top egg that you said looks blue does give us a range of sage green to like a mint/blue. I guess it depends on how much pigment she deposits. Hers always has white specks. The insides of her eggs are blue. But if you want a steady...
I have 3 EE. One lays cream. Two lay sage green. Only difference between the two green layers is shape of the egg which is weird. Go with a cream leg bar if you want blue. I was hoping for blue as well. And didnt get one.

I have a 18 week old EE boy that does not crow or mate with the girls. I'm not complaining but I find it weird. He is the only boy around and he just doesn't seem interested in acting like one. The only reason I say he is a boy is the saddle feather and the sickle feathers he has. Picture is a...
Do you have a light on in the coop at night? When chickens sleep in complete darkness they are dead to the world. Mabey a small light will be enough to keep mom from going into zombie mode and wake up if she hears something chewing on her chicks.
I think it's a cockerel as well. But until he starts crowing or laying he will live with us. If I have to find him a new home that means I get a new chick I set a limit of 10 birds no more no less.
I dont know what's doing here. Mabey getting cool by digging down to the dirt or trying to convince the hens to check out a spot to lay (none are laying yet) or mabey it's a hen and trying that spot to nest.
