Starting back up after a Year

Hello all. I have a question. I had to give away all my quails, chickens, hated guinea and our pet turkey when we moved to a new city. Now after a year living here, I'm settled in a big enough place to start it back up (Hooray!) but this time I wanna change up and get quails, chukars and...

    The Best hatching gamebirds

[disclaimer lol] Well this is my opinion and cannot be deemed as accurate. Only from my trials and errors, this is the conclusion I've come to so far when it comes to hatching game-bird eggs. I've incubated several types of birds and give my assessment on which hatches the best. Rank Fowl...

Guinea hurt some kind of way

Unfortunately, I ole boy died this morning. I found out why he wouldn't stand up straight and kept falling over. He apparently had broken his wing close to the shoulder. I didn't notice it when I checked him the first time but saw a little blood where the break was. Oh well, things happen but...

Guinea hurt some kind of way

I didn't get any responses yesterday about this so I'm reposting in the guinea forum. Yesterday morning I went to the coop to feed my quail and guinea. It did not seem to be any problems but a couple minutes after I refilled the water bowl for my guinea, one of them was upside down in the water...

My guinea is hurt some kind of way.

This morning I went to the coop to feed my quail and guinea. It did not seem to be any problems but a couple minutes after I refilled the water bowl for my guinea, one of them was upside down in the water bowl screaming. I thought he may have slipped and so I put him back on his feet. He took...

    Catching them darn Quails

It's time to put my 5 oldest quails up for the cold season. I had them roaming around the coop over the summer making a mess of things. Does anyone have a good way to catch them without traumatizing? They'll let me get about a foot to them then bolt or fly to the other side.

    Better tasting Quail

I feed my quail some processed gamebird feed but they don't eat much of it. They prefer the parakeet-finch feed I get from WollyWorld. Even if I mix it with the regular feed, they'll pick through it to get to the seeds and grains. All I'm saying is they may notice something off about the...

My chicks keep putting shavings in the water bowl.

Hello I just wanna know if anyone else has this problem. My chicks keep filling up the water bowl with bed shavings every day. I constantly have to clean it out but they do it again. I thought they maybe scratching while they were eating, since the bowl was near the feeder. So, I moved it to...

Looking for Gambel or Cali hatching eggs.

Hey all. After my success with Jumbo bobs, I want to expand my variety of quail. I'm looking for Gambel or Cali hatching eggs. Does anyone know who has any or a Web Hatchery? I've checked around but it seems most are sold out but I know this is about the tail end of acquiring some eggs.

Thanks for unknowingly helping me lol.

Hello I am a newbie bird raiser and I've been frequenting this forum quite often but never had a reason to post. I just tried to learn as much as I can before I make a purchase. I eventually bought 12 Georgia Giant Quail eggs (got 14 woo hoo!) and used my new Hova Bator. The Hova Bator...
