Too funny! I never thought a rooster would do that to a human! I hope you find a solution though. Good luck!

Woo Hoo!!! My first egg!! Oh wait... Dangit!!

Uh oh, she might be an egg eater! Funny post, though! It is a form of cannibalism among chickens, when they taste an egg and like it - egg eating time! This habit can be difficult to break, but putting wooden or golf balls as eggs in the nest box will help. They will peck at the fake eggs and...

    where can I find info?

Welcome to BYC.com! Where people and chickens are sure in for a surprise. Are you feeding them laying mash? I had a 9 month old New Hampshire pullet that I was wondering why she wouldn't lay, but then my mom-in-law told me to feed them laying mash, so we bought them some. A day later - an egg...

    Nest box stuffing

I use grass clippings and my hens seem to like it, although our roo keeps in arranging it the way he wants. But hay or wood shavings will do best for your nestbox. Good luck!

Can I have my rabbit live free-range?

Good to hear! But I was wondering how to keep them from leaving the yard and from the catz. I'm thinking of letting the coop open so he can enter and go out whenever he wants. More replies are appreciated!

Can I have my rabbit live free-range?

Hello, there! I have a female rabbit living in our coop. She's quite happy - bouncing about, but I thought she should live in the green, open spaces of our backyard, like our chickens. We have a few street cats visiting our house, but is it possible to have her live free-range? Thanks in advance!

A little too loud and proud

My hens do the same thing, too! They're really noisy, especially in the morning, but stops after a minute. Whenever we hear their loud cackles and clucks, we rush to the nestbox to find several moist eggs.

Anybody ever heard of these breeds?

We have those breeds here in the Philippines, too! Yes they are used in cockfighting. We have a rooster and a hen with chicks. They are fairly peaceful and great layers, but can be noisy and are very skittish.

How to feed hen medicine pill?

Hello We have a New Hampshire hen named Laura, she's a very sweet and friendly chicken by I noticed that she has heavy breathing, odd nasal noises and twitching head, which might be signs of gapeworm infection. I was worried so we went to the feed store and bought a chicken deworming tablet. We...

Which to raise: quails or rabbits?

Hello I see that my chickens are happier living in free-range rather than in the coop so I decided to let them live outside and they seem happy. But what will I do with the coop? I'm thinking of raising another pet to live in the coop. I thought of moving our lovebirds from their small cage to...
