5 Week Old Australorp-pullet or cockerel?

We have to move the light still but here is a few pictures from our surveillance camera that's on them. They hatched on March 18-19. I have one that has more fluffy whiter baby feathers on its head then the others but I know they are all Black Australorps because this is our 3rd year hatching...

    When to hatch again?

I am not a lucky person so I probably wont do that lol

    When to hatch again?

That's kinda what I was thinking. I think we move them out of the brooder at about 6 weeks correct? I think that's what we did last year. When they were old enough to jump out of the brooder (and run around my laundry room) is when we moved them to a large dog kennel in the coop with the bigger...

    When to hatch again?

They don't hurt each other? I would have thought that the older ones would kill the younger ones.

    When to hatch again?

Ok guys we just tried to hatch out a new bunch this year. They hatched on the 18th-19th and had a survival rate of 5 out of the 9 (two eggs didn't hatch and two had splayed legs and did not make it). I'm worried that we are going to get roosters again so I'd like to do another hatch to hopefully...

    extra roosters

What do you all do with Extra Roosters? We have 5 from a hatch of 8. We are giving one to a friend and probably keeping one ourselves to replace the older rooster. Our plan is to probably eat the others but how do you go about raising them? as 4 roosters in a coop wouldn't be a good thing.

    5 Weeks old/Sexing Questions

Bummer. I think I was in denial and wanted to hear some expert advice. I would have prefered hens. Thank you everyone for the advice so far :D So my question now is what to do with all the ROOs? A friend is taking one of them. Is it possible to house them together and slaughter them later...

    5 Weeks old/Sexing Questions

Hey all. We incubated 9 eggs Feb 9. We had 8 hatch on March 2. So we are 5 weeks old today. They look like they are doing well :D Here are some pictures. They are Black Australorps. just hatched/hatching yesterday I tried to sex them when they were little by the wing length but I...

    What do you think?

Update: Well, I heard him crow yesterday and he is looking much more like a Roo than ever before. Now to figure out what to do with him lol

    What do you think?

Well if we really do have one I'll have to convince my hubby not to just eat him lol We don't really want chicks yet but we did buy the black australorp for its duel purpose. So maybe we could get some meat birds from him and a certain hen or two eventually.

    What do you think?

Yes. I thought it would be obvious lol To me I'm sure he's a roo but just thought I'd get others opinions

    What do you think?

Hey all, we got these 8 Black Australorp chickens around Easter from our local fleet supply. Some days we think she's a hen and other days we are SURE he's a rooster. I guess only time will really tell but what do you all think? These were the best pics I could get without help. And don't...

    Growing?

My hubby says it is a high wattage day light bulb. It's one that we use for our reptile, if I am not mistaken. They are doing great in this set up however so I think we are good :D

    Growing?

Not sure if this should be posted here or not but yesterday I moved my chicks to a new enclosure (a large dog kennel). I had to do something after I came home and found one of my chicks sitting on top of the brooder (hope that's the right terminology). Here is a view of were they where before...
