Yup, they get changed every other day. Plus they’re inside-no sunshine (too cold to be outside)
And no bloody diarrhea. If that were the case, everyone would be sick, not just one hen :-(
I checked my chickens last night... all was fine. This a.m. one of my girls had passed, obviously several hours ago. Her anus and tail feathers were all bloody. It didn’t look like the other girls had attacked her.
Any ideas on what the problem might be? I want to keep my other girls safe!
I’m...
does anyone have suggestions on how to keep your dog from eating chicken poop?? It doesn’t agree w/her digestion and besides it’s gross. I yell at her, but then she goes right back to it.
Thanks everyone! Some great ideas here! I like the idea of covering boards w/the bags; we’ll be insulating our chicken shed w/styrofoam (because we already have it) & it does have to be covered. Didn’t think to use the feedbags!
I also like the idea of making bags; people can always use...
does anyone have any ideas on what to do w/all the feed sacks one collects? I use a couple for recycling (cardboard, cans, #1 plastic), and I wipe off my dog food bags & use them for wrapping packages (inside out so I can use the blank side for addressing). Oh, and I use them as trash bags too.
Ohhh, I have been spoiling mine! I’ll try to restrict the treats :-)
Thanks for the ideas on feed. Yes, the meaties will be processed before the girls start laying
