I agree with Fred. My chickens get all sorts of food and have laying pellets 24/7. If I go out to them with a couple of slices of bread, they go nuts. One RIR even flies up and tries to grab the bread out of my hand. I know they aren't that hungry.

My first egg came today without fanfair. 20 weeks and 2 days. Only one seemed ready and after I showed her the nesting box, she proceded to give me a nice sized brown egg. She's a RIR. Hopefully there will be more soon.

I got 25 healthy chickens from Mt Healthy Hatchery this past May. No problems, and only took 1 day to arrive.

Mine don't have the luxury of free range, but they do have an outside run. They roost on a ladder at various heights and they won't fly down in the morning until I turn on the light. I got 25 chicks from Mt Healthy in Ohio. They were all healthy upon arrival. They are now 8 weeks and growing like weeds. The EE's are super pretty too.

I had a chick at 3 weeks develop wry neck and now she is nearly 8 weeks and doing much better. I popped vit. E caps and squirted them directly into her mouth for a week. She runs with a grape with the best of them now.
