Thank you. No I haven't tried to push it back in, it's so big, I didn't think it would be a good idea. I was hoping it would shrink a little bit, but it doesn't seem to be going down any. Will it hurt her if I try to push it that big into her?
Thank you, I have given her a few soaks with epsom salts and this morning she passed a very large egg, intact but she still has a huge mass and seems to be in distress, she is sitting all puffed out pressed against her cage. She is separated from the others and in the house with me. I'm trying...
She is separated from the flock due to the rooster started to attack her a few months ago. She seemed to blossom not having to deal with him, however it's been since November that she has laid an egg. She did pass one out this morning, I don't see how she got it out considering how large that...
Thank you, see passed an egg out the morning, very large and intact, however the large bloody mass is still there. It looked like there was some poop this morning in her cage, but I haven't seen anymore. She is only eating and drinking a very little, I will keep putting the ointment on it. I'm...
Thank you so much. I can't see if there is an egg inside it, it's very bloody and dripping. I did manage to get her into a warm bath, but couldn't hold her in there for very long. I wiped as much stuff off as I could. I have poultry+aid and sprayed that around it as much as I could. Really can't...
Please help. I have a 3 1/2 yr old hen that I keep seperate from the flock due to the rooster attacking her. I had to go away for three days, she was fine yesterday when I got home, but this morning she has this large bloody mass on her butt. What in the world could this be? She hasn't...
I had this issue when I had one hen and one rooster left from my flock. I thought it would be a good idea to get three pullets to give the older hen a break from the rooster. After I introduced the new hens, everything was fine for a couple of weeks, but then all the sudden the rooster started...
So I know this is going to annoy everyone, but I live in MD. and they don't sell anything for deworming chickens. The only Fenbendazole I have been able to find is for either goats or horses. Is this what your suggesting I use, I bought the ivermectin because it was suggested by an employee...
Thank you, I found ivermectin paste 1.87% is that the correct strength? Also, is it safe to eat their eggs that have been laid before I knew they had worms? I know not to eat them after we administer the ivermectin.
I'm having an issue with my Rooster about 3 years old. He has always been a very calm good natured rooster, doesn't attach or chase. Due to natural occurrences, since the winter there was just him and his hen and she was stated to look rough due to all his attention. So I order three pullets...
This is such a great idea! I always have questions about my rooster and can never find anything! This is Mister Lee, I was told he is an Americana, he is a very nice Roo, about 2 years olds, protective of the girls, but a little rough on them (I only have 2 hens). Thankfully he is not aggressive...
No unfortunately he died. My other Rooster and two hens are doing fine. I did clean out the coop and all feeding water bowls and have been adding Vetrx to their water .
None of the others are showing any signs. It happened so quick, one day he was fine, the next not. I've never heard of permethrin, I will get some. Thanks!
Thank you, I saw Coccidiosis, but I thought it targeted young chicks , mine are about a year old. I haven't seen any of the symptoms from the other ones. It happened so quick, like one day he was fine and the next not. You're lucky you have a vet that works with Chickens, we don't have any out here.
I will give it a try, unfortunately we didn't think the coop through and the four of them sit across their bar with the two roos on either end, so I have to reach across one male and the two hens to get to him. Thank you!
My rooster suddenly has become lethargic and acting strange, not interacting with the flock and when he does get too close the older Rooster will go after him. Which most people say isn't unusual, however I don't usually have that kind of issue with them, the younger rooster knows his place...
So I have a Rooster, actually I have two, one has established dominance and for the most part they get along. However, the one Rooster doesn't crow at all, never has, he tried one day and it was the worst sound, but he never did it again. He does go through the motion of crowing, he opens his...
