It really depends on what breeds you have, and what method you want to use for sexing. Vent sexing can be done at birth, but you would need training or a lot of experience to be able to properly vent sex. Some breeds are sex-linked, that is, males and females have different characteristics...
Does anyone know what the livestock laws are in Montgomery County, MD? It's a suburban neighborhood, so I wouldn't be keeping any roos, but I haven't been able to find out how many hens I can have (or if I can have them). Any info? Thanks!
Thanks for the replies (and the bump)! I had heard that as well, but I'm not sure which breeds this applies to. I just read on another thread that you can sex SL Wyandottes like this, but does anyone know about the others?
