    Help!!! Lethargic hen

I believe she just passed away. She suddenly let out a ton of poop and then couldn’t hold her head up anymore/went limp and closed her eye. She’s not moving and her body is going stiff. 😭😭😭💔💔💔 I just want to say thank you to everyone for trying to help me. I’m so disappointed in myself that I...

    Help!!! Lethargic hen

Ok so I’m making a quick stop at Walmart to see if they have it here before going to petco. But I had an epiphany while driving. The antibiotic makes sense. I ran out of the expired one she was on before the corid came and she was hanging in there until recently

    Help!!! Lethargic hen

I didn’t buy it since I wasn’t sure how long it’s going to take for it to get to me and figured that a vet would be able to give me something quicker. I’ll try looking for this nearby. It’s getting late so I don’t think I’ll be able to get to any local feed stores before closing

    Help!!! Lethargic hen

So I managed to find a place who would do a stool test and prescribe medicine without a visit and they told me that they found absolutely nothing in her stool. 🙃 No coccidia, no worms, nothing! But obviously something is wrong since she’s incredibly weak. They ended up having a look at her and...

    Help!!! Lethargic hen

Would it be counter productive if I give her the sav-a-chick electrolyte?? From what I read, I would give her the probiotic one after the antibiotic treatment but I was unsure about when to give electrolytes. Or at this time, I should stick to the sugar water when it looks like she’s slipping??

I chose to give her the ivermectin again since I remembered that the lady told me to give it to her again if I saw any signs that she would need it

    Help!!! Lethargic hen

so update, the CORID came in a few days ago. It’s day 3 with the CORID but she’s still in pretty bad shape. She’s not interested in eating and drinking at all. Is the medicine not working because I’m I’m giving her the wrong dosage? Since she’s the only one I’m treating, I’ve been doing 3/4 tsp...

    Help!!! Lethargic hen

Thank you! I’ve never given my chickens sugar water before but if I think her condition is going south, I’ll definitely give it a try. I think the antibiotic did her some good since she’s taking an interest in eating again. I’m very sorry to hear about your pullet. I hope she has a speedy...

    Help!!! Lethargic hen

I’ll buy the Corid online right away. For now, I can only hope this bird sulfa will help until it gets here. I asked for Corid along with amprolium to the guy on the phone but the only thing he mentioned was the bird sulfa.

    Help!!! Lethargic hen

I just called the feed store and turns out they don’t have Corid but they have this called Bird Sulfa which I have actually bought before! The only issue is that it is also expired 💀 would it still be okay to give it to her? I’m assuming it would be fine, but not as effective???
