Yeah, my husband said it was the Cochin and physically saw it. The only other suspect is this one who is 4 1/2 months old... everyone else is for sure a hen.
Good idea. All the chicken does is lay on the ground. Then waddles around eating. Gets along with all the hens. No mounting, but chicken is only 7 months
I’m in the same boat. They don’t allow roosters in our neighborhood either because houses are so close to each other. If it’s a rooster, I’m going to have to re-home him.
It’s a Cochin. Everyone in a previous post said it was a hen.
I am new to chickens... so I feel so lost. I hear one crow, but then I get told that sometimes hen’s can sound like roosters too What I do know, is that we can’t have roosters in our neighborhood.
She’s a Cochin. Big girl. Twice as big as my other hens. I have a total of 6 of which I’m trying to figure out if there’s a rooster in there... I hear some crowing. Just once or twice. In the morning.
I have a chicken that crows and I can’t quite figure out which one it is. When I get closer, they all stop singing.
All I’m positive are hens, except for this one. 4 months old.
I saw a similar one online, but I re-designed it and made it quite different. The original one I saw was more narrower and taller. I made mine a lot wider, added shingles, windows with plexi glass that could pop open, I added insulation... my only regret is not making the run taller.
Thanks I’m 4”11. I used the stool a lot... especially when putting the shingles on the roof. The bad part about not talking to my husband... no one told me about fiberglass I learned the hard way. Built it in April. Still looks new.
