How else can you tell if it’s a rooster or a hen?
Is the plumbing different?

Trust me, I've raised them. This is posted in emergencies, so it's the wrong forum I will report it so it gets moved to the correct forum. How else can you tell if it’s a rooster or a hen?

One of my hens makes a very soft, silly sounding crow occasionally. I didn’t realize that hens could actually crow loud like a normal rooster can. If she starts crowing like a real rooster I will be in trouble because there are no roosters allowed in this area! That's a hen. No doubt about it. Yes, hens can crow, and they can often sound exactly like a rooster.
I’m in the same boat. They don’t allow roosters in our neighborhood either because houses are so close to each other. If it’s a rooster, I’m going to have to re-home him.One of my hens makes a very soft, silly sounding crow occasionally. I didn’t realize that hens could actually crow loud like a normal rooster can. you may have to rehome the hen as well if you get crowing complaints!I’m in the same boat. They don’t allow roosters in our neighborhood either because houses are so close to each other. If it’s a rooster, I’m going to have to re-home him.
Ours is 7 months. This is a 2 year old blue Cochin hen for comparison. You still haven't said how yours old is.

Keep an eye out to see if the bird in question tries to mate with the other hens. I’m pretty sure that only roosters will try that...Ours is 7 months.
