We regularly camp and leave our birds for a week or more. I have an auto door with solar power, feed inside and outside, huge water troughs, a predator proof-ish run, and they share the free range run with some goats which give some protection. We have Ring cameras with solar to keep an eye here...
Added the solar charger after the batteries died during a snow storm. Within a day my girls discovered and pecked holes in the wires. Framed it all out to allow easy removal but no access to the wires this morning with some pieces of scrap wood I had from another project. Came out pretty decent...
That menu is where I figured out I had missed the - in my lat/lon. My instructions I believe only had install, but I could be wrong. Was nothing in them that couldn’t be figured out in a few minutes.
It’s a chicken door, not a house. I have all my blueprints to my cabin too, that’s not the same thing.... at all.... Thanks for your replies, they’ve really been so welcoming and insightful :duc :smack
Because I am an man, and it’s a simple device. If I kept paper instructions for every device I owned I would need to build another barn to store it all
Doesn’t really matter as I figured out what I had set incorrectly and now it’s correct.
Figured it out, had my coordinates input as + rather than - so it was throwing it off. Giving it a shot today, but this could be awesome. I am glad I bought the advanced model on accident LOL
So I did buy the advanced. When I turn on sun mode it shows weird times for the opening and closing. It currently shows opening at 12:32am and closing at 10:36am. Of course I tossed the instructions, will this update to more reasonable times?
Now actually thinking about it, yes I will. Not difficult, but it might have been smarter to get the advanced model. It asked me for my coordinates so maybe I did buy the advanced inadvertently. I’ll have to go look. If I have to adjust them it’s not too awful hard but that would be nice.
We go on a two week summer trip every year so that was my justification. I would hate to have a neighbor forget to close up the door and something get to them, but also would not expect someone to come out at sunrise and sunset. It will be nice to not go out first thing each morning as well.
Finally got around to getting my auto door on the coop when I did the cleaning this morning. Really for opening before I go outside in the mornings, especially when it’s raining or snowy. I’ll still be out there at night making sure they all made it in.
High quality materials, easy to install...
Hello, new member from northern AZ. I’ve been a long time lurker here and decided to finally register. We currently have 6 hens (Rhode Island Red, Plymouth Rock, Orpingtons) and 2 roosters (Leghorns) that share their space with a Nubian and a Pygmy goat. We have slowly been building out for a...
We keep our chickens with our Nubian and Pygmy. They used to be in separate pens but my girls would just keep finding their way over to the goat pens. In our case the Nubian keeps them safe from coyotes at night. Only issue we have had is goats eating our girls food so we have to adjust...
