Thanks so much for the pics Yes, I see what you are saying. Here are a couple pics of when he was younger. One as a week old, the others a few weeks old. He is 13 weeks now. He has changed so much. Do you see the BSL traits on him here.
Thanks.

If I breed him to the barred rocks I have? No, I won't be showing. Not ready for that He isn't going anywhere, my husband treats him like a pet
If you breed him to a Barred hen you should get all barred offspring...
Chris
So if I did have some chicks with this roo and the pure...
Very handsome fella. I thought mine was a pullet for a while too. Thanks to the forum, I found out otherwise. I got 5 birds and ended up with 3 roos. Oh well, They found a home today so now I just have him and the 3 BR girls.
A few people on the forum have said he is. I just saw a couple orange feathers on his wing and some teal on his wings and tail. I am new to chickens, obviously, so I didn't know. He sure looked like a barred rock when he was smaller. I have lots of pics of him in my uploads
Thanks, that's what I suspected. He is very sweet though He sure looked like a barred rock, at least to me, up until about a week ago. I wonder how I could have know when he was a small chick. Do the sex linked look different at that time? I have old pics of him if I knew what to look for...
Well I got those nice barred rock pullets yesterday and they are doing great. I was doing some research, and now am wondering if my roo is a sex linked and not a barred rock. We have been noticing a couple orange feathers on the wings, and some teal on the tail and wings. He is about 13 weeks...
I believe my roo started growing the comb at 7 or 8 weeks also. He is big now. I guess I am just nervous after getting 3 roos and 2 hens last time. That was from TSC though. I didn't know any better then. Live and learn I guess. At least now I know the meaning of straight run
I do wonder how old these are. Our BR rooster is very sweet actually. I will have to post a pic of him now. He is HUGE. Maybe tomorrow I can get a good pic of him. His wings are a little ruffed up from being with the other 2 roosters. The other 2 roos and the 2 hens they like are going to...
Thanks so much everyone I am happy with them. One of them seems like a little ninja. She can jump, run up walls, etc They are funny.
Thanks for all the help. Now maybe things will settle down here, or not
Hello again.
We got these barred rocks today. They are supposed to be all pullets this time. Do they look like it to you. Geez I hope so after the last fiasco. The guy said they are 15 weeks, but they sure look younger to me. I am no expert of course. They are much smaller than our barred...
Thanks. Boy, if they both crow like the one does, it will be a bit noisy here Well, the one has been doing it for about a week. He is trying, it is a very low tone for sure.
That would be so great We just love this one. My husband picks it up all the time and she doesn't even try to get away. She is more like a pet
Thanks so much. When she was younger she was thought to be a roo I am thrilled.
Thanks again
I know I have the one roo, he crows already. They are about 7-8 weeks old. His crown is much redder and bigger than the other possible roo. I also have a hen. The one in questions crown seems to also be turning more black than red.
Thanks.
This one crows
This one doesn't.
Well, it's been a few weeks so I thought I would post a couple more pics. Here is our barred rock. Does he still look like a roo? He doesn't act like one. He is about 7-8 weeks old now. No crowing and very, very sweet, even with the JG roo I know I have. He does crow, the JG I mean:)
Thanks.
