    Barking hen . . .

Has anyone ever heard their hen bark? Two of my hens did not go into their coop lastnight and around midnight my husband woke up to what he thought was a dog barking in our backyard. He retrieved the flashlight and went out to the corner of the house and found our two hens. The marans was...

Something got my millie fleur and hurt my bantam roo

I went out this morning to feed my fluffy butts and my little d'uccle girl is gone. I searched the entire yard for her and she isn't anywhere Not only that but my bantam roo, Bob, is injured. His right wing is shredded, he is limping and he is barely eating. He must have put up a good...

Welsummer, Indian Red Jungle Fowl or Silver Phoenix?

She is 4 weeks old, yet still has no tail feathers. I have another one from the same batch that looks just like her and she doesn't have any tail feathers either. Do you think they are Welsummers? Or maybe a different breed? Thanks for any suggestions.

    Another gender question . . . .

I have 11 chicks (ranging in age from 3+ weeks to over 5 weeks) and I noticed that when they seem startled that 8 of them run into a corner together while the other three hang by the feeder looking around with their tail feathers up. Could this indicate that I have 8 pullets and 3 cockarels? I...

Could you all please tell me what breed you think these chicks are?

They are from McMurray Hatchery . . . I initially thought one of them might be a dark cornish, but I have checked their website dozens of times and they are so light-colored they don't really match the pics. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!
