    Wound on hens wing, help

This is my hen who’s at the bottom of the pecking order. She’s had wounds before. It’s hard to describe where it is. It’s like on the top of her wing bone, kind of like the “elbow” area. The pics with her saddle are from a few weeks ago and the others where it looks more like a scab is from...

Chicken has bald back. Not mites or molting.

Background: I have a hen who is definitely on the bottom of the pecking order, ever since she was introduced with 2 others a year ago (we followed all the rules of integrating chickens). She previously had a pecking wound on her head that I was able to heal. She is still picked on regularly and...

    Does this look like mites?

I attached photos. I haven’t been able to inspect all of the chickens but this one has these white flakes in her feathers and she’s also been molting. I compared it to pictures of mites on google and hers look more flaky than the photos I saw. The other hens also have some white flecks on the...

Is there anything I can do to help my chicken with a limp?

I’ve posted about this chicken before, here’s the last one for reference: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/could-use-some-more-help-with-ongoing-bumble-foot-issues.1490334/#post-24852871 Her bumble foot infection is gone, I was able to pull the plug out and heal it. But she still has a...

Could use some more help with ongoing bumble foot issues

Thank you for your reply! I think this is probably the case with Frankie who has the one infected foot. Unfortunately with the double bumble foot girl, I haven’t actually been able to get any sort of plug out yet and there does seem to be yellowish under the scab area and her feet have gotten...

Could use some more help with ongoing bumble foot issues

Previous post: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/help-with-bumble-foot.1487829/#post-24804028 I’m having the same issue with 2 chickens. One has it on one foot and the other has both feet. The main problem I’m having right now is that all the infected feet are still hard and swollen but...

    Help with bumble foot

previous post on this chicken for context: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/advice-on-residual-bumble-foot-problems.1486032/ So since this post i’ve been doing epsom salt soaks and applying prid. Today I pulled out the plug. I’m a little frustrated because the vet said the...

Advice on residual bumble foot problems?

Sorry in advance for the long post. So i’ve had one of my hens being treated for bumble foot, she had her 3rd appointment yesterday. They’ve been putting her in pressure relieving bandages (the pool noodle ones), and did laxer therapy. Unfortunately we caught it pretty late when it was already...

help caring for this head wound?

So I posted about this same issue like last week. We noticed she had this crusty scab wound on her head that may have been from being pecked at. It hasn’t changed much until just now when i looked at it and part of it was raised so i lifted it and this whole thing came out, idk how to describe...

    Crusty head wound?

thanks for the info! i flushed it with saline and got some of the crust off then put more neosporin on and put her back with the rest. i’ll keep checking on her to make sure it gets better. She seems totally fine otherwise.

    Crusty head wound?

One of my chickens that was added to the flock about a month ago has a weird crusty wound on her head that I just noticed today. I don’t know how long it may have been there because she’s normally very skittish and doesn’t let me near her or pick her up. But now she’s squatting so I was able to...
