Sorry I’ve been quiet. Work is getting, well, stressful is a good way to put it. I’m glad y’all are ok tho. I don’t miss hurricanes at all and I especially don’t miss the cleanup. We had a small snowstorm here so we had tons of downed limbs. I think we had worse cleanup than you Cynthia!
You know this makes me think, I’m not sure I’ve actually seen a well bred leghorn. All I’ve seen is hatchery stock and I’m not sure if I’d be able to visually see a difference like I have with barred rocks
That poor Ameraucana. That’s awful.
That leghorn doesn’t look like a good example of Colombian either. I’m not a fan of the color as is but I’ve never actually seen a poor example of it until now.
Thanks for the info! I think a project I’d love to tackle one day is breeding rare colors to be productive layers. Not as productive as a hatchery white, but still respectable
Ok, I haven’t read the whole thread because it’s long and my brain is fried. I do have a few questions tho. Are all varieties of leghorn flighty? Are some colors or strains calmer? Do they all lay as much as my hatchery girl?
I used to think they were a sorta plain bird, but I got a leghorn...
I have, but I’m intensely private about my art. So I have not and likely won’t post them anywhere.
For me, I have an iPad with true tone. So the screen doesn’t alter the color. I also have the same control of my lines on screen that I do on paper. I have the same measure of progress. I don’t...
Meanwhile I can’t do traditional to save my life. I feel that digital is much more forgiving of mistakes, of which I make plenty.
I think you might’ve but now I can’t remember. My brain is fried and I feel like a jellyfish
He looks good! I think it’s just knowing your tools. For the yellow I did a soft airbrush and then went over it with a cloud brush on another layer set to Add or Screen, to brighten it. Then for the oranges, I’d either do the same thing or I’d go on a third layer set to Multiply and darken it...
The older ipad is likely getting its battery replaced soon. It might be free based on its age because Apple had that whole snafu with their batteries. But if it’s not covered it should be $100, which is way cheaper than a new iPad
Omg I really love that.
