I gave her some olive oil and bread and massaged her crop. it felt soft but not full. from what I've seen, her nostrils are clear but she's not breathing through her nose.
do you have any other family members or people that could have accidentally harmed her? I had a chick that a little one got a hold of and it died within 30minutes.
my silkie is wheezing and is sneezing quite a bit. non of my other chickens are showing anything. I have isolated her and im hoping that its just something stuck in her crop. what should I do?
not at all, he is the top of the pecking order. i must say, he is quite brutal to one of them so i squirt him with a water gun or hold him by the legs. maybe thats another way of being oicked on?!
my almost 3 month cockerel hasnt been moving much.. he is eating and drinking yet just sits under the chair. he can walk well if i lure him with a treat, or if a bigger chicken scares him away, or if he just wants to. but most of the time, he would just stand under the chair. i have seen him...
definitely not broody, this is the second time this has happened. last time i gave her a salt bath and massaged her crop. i then moved her inside for some warmth. the next morning she was fine! but it is more severe this time.
my hen, which i bought at adult age about a year ago, has not been moving, and is reluctant to get out of the coop. the goose had escaped their area and went to the chickens, i caught one of the goose pecking and eating her tail feathers, she still has a good amount but not many. she didnt move...
my brother thought it was a good idea to give my 8/9 week cochin an apple seed, luckily it was only one (not crushed). what should i do? APPLE SEEDS ARE TOXIC! HELP
are you SURE they are maggots? or are they worms? have you wormed your chickens? you can find some dewormers online but you must find out which type of worm it is! worm her anyways (and the rest of the flock). you should be worming them regularly.
this has never happened to me before, so i am no profesional. i think she may have trouble eating! (depending on how much has been snapped off) could you send photos? how did this happen? you will have to give her some finer foods to eat as she may struggle!
