    First time incubating!

Hello! I posted this question a while back but didn't get much feedback. I'm hoping this post will get a little more attention! I am doing research to prepare for my first time incubating eggs. I have read that I need to keep the eggs in 50⁰ temperature until I am ready to incubate them. Is this...

    Eye infection/disease???

Hi! I'm am located in South Texas (RGV). I'm not sure if stress can be a factor in this?? We were recently hit with a hurricane and my girls' coop flooded pretty bad. I noticed a problem with her eye days after the storm. It's hard to really see anything as the eye seems to be tightly swollen...

    Eggs from nest to incubator?

I'm wanting to incubate some eggs from my flock. I was wondering if I can pull them straight from the nest and into the incubator?? Do they have to sit at room temperature for a while first? I've even seen that they should sit at around 55°F at an angle for a while?? Can someone clear this up...

Of course i will do my own research/trial and error to get things started, but I was wondering if anyone has any extra tips or...

    Day old ducks

I'm not familiar with that feed/supplement! Maybe wait and see if there are instructions included?

    Day old ducks

Yes it is! I would just make sure to add Brewer's Yeast (I raised 2 day old goslings on unmedicated chick starter and the "Now" brand brewers yeast)(just add about 1/2 tbsp per feeding) or some other type of niacin source to prevent any growth deformities!

    Day old ducks

I just got some from the hatchery about 2 weeks ago as 2 day olds aswell. It was my 1st time raising hatchlings, and they all survived and are doing great! All I did was set them up with a heat lamp, wood shavings bedding, and made sure to add an electrolyte powder to their water (I will...

    Is my duckling okay??

One of my 2-week old Blue Swedish ducklings fell out of its brooder!! :( It has been about 2 days since it happened, thankfully he/she isn't showing any signs of injury... but should I be worried at all?? The brooder is about 3ft off the ground. Thanks!

    Breed ID??

I bought these from a local breeder as 2-day olds. He didn't know what breed the parents were, but he showed me a picture. From what I saw there was a White Chinese, Roman Tufted, and perhaps a mix (light brown and white spotted). I may be wrong but those breeds don't add up in comparison to...

    Too young to sex?

I currently have 8 Blue Swedish ducklings who are 2 weeks old. I ordered them from a hatchery and got 1 male who was marked with a rubber band. As the days past it got too tight and had to be removed. My temporary fix was to polish the male's toenails while I waited to get larger bands. However...

How can I be sure that I am providing my geese with the correct ratio of feeds?

Awesome, thanks very much! I live in Texas where it is very warm, so my geese free to graze for about 8 hours each day. However, we don't have much grass (all very dry and dead). As for the angel-wing, yes I believe the 3 that got it are males!! Now for feed, Tractor Supply is pretty much the...

    Angel wing?

Not sure if your are still needing help/advice, but I just treated angel wing on 3 of my geese just a few days ago. I got some basic self-adhering wrap from walmart (a few bucks) and folded the twisted end of the wing into its proper position then wrapped the wing up. I also went ahead and...

How can I be sure that I am providing my geese with the correct ratio of feeds?

I currently have four 1.5 month old geese. I have already experienced and cured angel wing on 3 of them, so I don't want anything like that to happen again. I am currently feeding feeding them a 1/3 20% protein chick starter, 1/3 cracked corn, and 1/3 oats ratio. I am not able to find any feed...
