    How long does a hen go broody

    I have a hen that went broody around the 1st of May and I was going to try to get some eggs for her to sit on . Does any one know if I still have time to get some eggs to put under her.( we dont have a roo) Will she keep sitting on them?

    So excited for everyones chicks hatching. Love seeing all the pictures.. So I thought Id show you all some more of our babies. My boys love letting them have their own private movie on their flat screen . They seem to enjoy it.

    Hoping to know what breed?

    Hoping someone might be able to tell me what breed? I got them from a feed store and she said she has a mix of different hens but only a black silky roo and white silky roo. Most of the other chick look some what like black silkys.

    CHICKEE , It is very hard waiting we had a surprize cause ours started hatching on day 18. and finished on day 21. I think that the lady I got them from must of had gotten from a broody . Iam lucky that we work from home so got to enjoy the hatch.

    CONGRATS ON YOUR HATCH SO FAR!!!! We had all 7 of our eggs hatch. Last hatch was at 5pm and i dont know what breed of chick she is She has to be part Silky but she dont look like one.     Thank you so much for all the advice. She just hatched a few moments ago. and while she was pushing all the other eggs around we now see we have another pip we couldnt see it cause it was pipping downward. Baby is strong and loud waiting on #2 egg. I think that the person who gave us the eggs...

    Thanks for the advice. She just fully hatched. While she was kicking around we noticed that we have another pip it was piping downward so we could'nt tell. Gosh this is sooooo amazing .

    Temp is around 100 its sure is nerve racking . we cant really see the chick except for membrane and it looks white keep reading how if is dries out itll die . Didnt know what we where getting into we've already feel in love withthe little guy and we cant even see it.
