I have a hen that went broody around the 1st of May and I was going to try to get some eggs for her to sit on . Does any one know if I still have time to get some eggs to put under her.( we dont have a roo) Will she keep sitting on them?

I think it varies. I've read of some hens that would sit for eternity unless they were broken of it or given eggs to hatch. Others seem to give up after a few weeks. The only girl I've had go broody sat for about a month before I broke her (I didn't want chicks). So I'm sure she would have stayed on the nest until her health was impaired. Be sure to force her off the nest to eat/drink each day if she's not doing it on her own. Good luck!

Ol' Farrah (Buff Orp) just snapped out of her episode three days ago......She was broody for about a month....I think she got tired of getting her eggs taken from her and me having to throw her big butt of the nest every afternoon..... she's back to normal!!
