I'm getting so excited! Ashley, I bet that egg was yucky and I'm sorry about the one that exploded.

Heh yeah...It cleaned up pretty easy though once we got the egg amber off. We have had a storm here so the humidity is abit high now too

Thinking I might candle tomorrow let them rest today after all that hubbub yesterday. Really hopeing to see something, in the eggs! If there isn't much going on in the egg is now the time to cull?

I've read all over that you cull after 10 days, but the only thing that I am culling is blood rings and clear eggs. I'm afraid to cull anything that still has veins or a chick inside. I'm not sure how I would be able to live with myself knowing that I culled something that could have lived.

I'm going to compare chickie size inside the egg though, if some look well 6 days or so they might be going. I still dont have any blood rings (since that first one) from the last time I checked though. Well I say that but I can't tell on those marans and just barely on the barnevelders, they are very brown too. The wyandottes and the cochins are the easiest, with two lights!

Good morning!! Well last night at 11pm I went to candle 1 last time and try to get a picture before lock down and to our surprize we had a peep
ep.gif
. So we where all shocked and a little worried ( sure dont want to loose any little guys. )We went ahead and added the water to the trough and started lock down. Now almost 12 hrs later still waiting on the little early guy and no signes of any more pips . We are on day 19 today hoping everthing is going good. Was up all night waiting

I believe lockdown is June 3rd, but my experimental incubator's hygrometer decided not to work anymore. It works when I place the probe over my hot cup of coffee but inside it registers zero. I just misted my eggs with some water and now the probe is working. I just hope I didn't shrink wrap my chicks. The probe went out about 2 am this morning and I misted about 10 minutes ago.....

Hopefully VERY SOON we will all have ALOT of little fuzzy butts peeping and pooping!

Sorry still learning my chicken lingo. Its just a pip not making very fast progress started around 13 hrs ago, and Yes it has the whole family cheering it along

. We are all pretty obsessed.

Hi all, it's me CluckCluckCharlie with another question. I've tried looking back at the forums and threads and all that, and I know I've seen it, but I'm trying to raise my humidity. Put the "test" eggs in..... haha... room temp <----- wrong, my room is 68 degrees so my temperature bottomed out. ( Lesson Learned ) Will put them in a different room not so chilly to settle when they arrive. However, it didn't take to long for the temp to stabalize again. Really close for 2 days now. 99.7-100.9 I'm happy I think... lol. Right now, I'm starting to work on setting or testing the humidity for (when the time comes ) LOCKDOWN. Up to now, my humidity has been right around 44%. Added water to troughs. Do I want to take out the plugs? Or one of them? How high am I suposed to trying to get it too?

See alot has happened the last couple days... Most of it Great! Some not so good. Already scheduling Drs. Appointment... I'm gonna need it! I still don't think this is what he ment by "FIND A HOBBY".

Oh yeah, what are blood rings? And are they good? What are you SUPOSED to see on the first candleing? When is an egg... "gone"?

Thanks Again All. I'll try harder to keep my mouth shut untill a later time......... YOU ALL JUST GOT ME SO DARNED EXCITED I CAN'T HELP IT!
