I have 6 chicks, I need to tell them apart so that I don’t name a chick twice leaving one chick without a name. I want to make DIY leg bands but, I don’t know what to use or what is safe. I want it to be simple with cheap but good supplies because I think the factory made or something like that...

Blaze one of my chicks keeps trying to peck at another chicks eye. is something wrong. Is Blaze just playing? Is she trying to help with something I don’t know about? I’m worried she is going to peck the other chicks eye out. Is it natural for her to be pecking a specific chicks in the eye?
I can’t wait for my chicks to arrive. The are coming the 15th of October 2020. I cannot wait. I can barely sleep a wink at night because of all the excitement. Does anyone know how to help keep me busy until the chicks arrive. Also, how to take my excitement down a notch so that I can sleep tonight.

PS those chicks aren’t mine.
I have a little brother who is 7 years old. I also have a dog. My brother is not gentle to my dog so, I don’t think he will be gentle with the chicks I’m getting. Is there a way to teach him to be gentle or a way to keep the chicks out of his reach?
