    Pecking and feather eating

Thanks! I have around 35-40 hens and a rooster with an 8’ by 12’ coop with a 16 by 16 run but am currently about to finish a run extension that will add about 200 sq ft.

    Pecking and feather eating

Hi! I think it helped for a day or two after application but then it wears off. I am currently trying the Pinless peeper blinders on the bully hens and I think this is a more long term solution, but definitely is a little harder on the hen. Hope this helps

    Pecking and feather eating

Hey everyone. My flock is in bad shape. Many of them have bald spots in their backs or near their vents that have dried blood due to pecking. I’ve seen them peck themselves and others. At first I thought just one chicken was bullying and pecking others but I’ve recently seen others deliberately...

Chick pushed hatching egg upside down?!

The first chick has hatched and has been rustling all the eggs around. One was actively starting to pip/zip and he pushed it upside down against the side and the beat is stuck out and panting. It hasn’t made any progress and I’m worried it’s stuck because it’s in the wrong position. Thoughts...

    Quitters? Dead eggs?

Nurture right 360, brand new. Has stayed steady at 99.5 F. And has stayed between 48 and 55% humidity. No calibrated thermometer, from what I’ve researched the one in the incubator is supposed to be reliable.

    Quitters? Dead eggs?

On day 7 I did see veins and movement in the last two but it doesn’t look like they’ve developed since then. Why does this happen?

    Quitters? Dead eggs?

Candled the eggs today, the 14th day in the incubator. I already had a quitter on day 7, but I think I might have 3 more. 😔😭 thoughts?

    Help! Injured foot/bumblefoot

Hey all, saw my leghorn pullet limping today, and her foot is very swollen. Is it bumblefoot? She’s a pain to catch so I don’t have any pics of the bottom. I’ll attach the pics I could get. Also, does my Brahma have leg mites?

    Dead egg/embryo? Infertile egg?

Hey all, this is my first time incubating eggs, and I have a few questions. I candled them today, day 7, and found one with a red ring all the way around a dark spot. I’ll add a pic? Did this embryo pass away? Also, another egg is freckly and hard to see but has what looks like a yolk, with no...

Help! Chickens with bald spots and enlarged red crop

Oh my gosh! We saw these bugs this morning and found a remedy to kill them but didn’t realize that could have something to do with it! Here is what we put in a spray bottle and sprayed in the coop-the gnats were mostly by the windows. It seemed to work well. 2 cups water, 2 cups vinegar 2...
