    My emu chicks have hatched!!

    I had 5 chicks hatch and 5 eggs with fully formed chicks but membranes were shrunk around them and they never broke through shell. One looked like it broke through membrane but not through shell. Anyone know what would cause this? Is there anything I could have done differently to prevent this?

    Hatch along 2015

    I just put 8 eggs in a cabinet incubator yesterday. Average weight was 630 grams and Temp is set at 96.5, humidity is 28%. This will be my first attempt at incubating emu eggs as my male has always hatched out chicks. Anyone else incubating?

    My 4 peahens started laying 4 days ago (they are all over age 3), are the first ones of the season not fertile? If you crack them open is there a way to tell? I know chicken eggs will contain a circle ring but I didn't see that in peahens egg. Thanks!
