Josephine was a found goose (aka she volunteered to be kidnapped from the local park where she was dumped by heinous, misinformed, ignorant...ahem...her former owners) so her age is undetermined. We believe her to be an Easter gift 2010 so that would make her young.
She does have Angel...
This is Miss Josephine Goose out for a stroll with her hybrid duck friend (suspected to be a Rouen/Mallard cross). He's 7 and has been a pet of theirs the whole time.
I'll help. If this is the park I suspect, I'll bet that's where Josephine came from. I am posting a video of her in her new home with her duck friend, Arnold. I'll PM you here to see how I can help.

Welcome Arwen! I work in South Austin but live WAAAAAAYYYYY up north.
I'm fortunate that I live only 2 miles from where I work. Friends joke about me not leaving my five minute radius. Grin. I do go up north though, darn it!
Josephine update.
She and the duck, Arnold, are getting along just fine. She's goosed him once but now finds that goosing the tall person gets a much better sound effect.
She has her own swimming pool.
My friends have accused me of spoiling Josephine. I don't know what they mean. Apparently...

So glad to hear it. Goats are really fun. I have fainters.
OOOH Fainting goats? I want to see! LOL They look small. Are they a pygmy type?
JoJo, I will. I am currently hooked on a blog I found from this site. Not sure of the user name now but her name is Mary and she's an ex-nurse living with goats and chickens. I'm in heaven. I'll live vicariously for now.
Thank you. You are so generous with your knowledge. I am so happy to have found this site!
I actually think that the knob has gotten bigger in the 2 weeks that I had her. I'll have L keep an eye on that for me.
Is there any way to guess the age of a goose? Josephine is with her new family. L, who's had a pet duck for 7 years, told me she thinks JoJo is a young 6-9 month old goose. I felt like she was young but have nothing to base that on.
In certain species of pscittacines, I know the legs will color...

I'm certainly no expert but if that is a Chinese Swan Goose then that's a female. If it's an African, I'm not sure.
I'm basing this on the lack of knob on the bird.

Oh I feel for you. I used to raise budgies and cockatiels. It's awful when they have something like that and you just don't know what to do for it. Good luck with your baby.
Yes, Josephine is a Brown Chinese. I would assume Jack is as well.
