    A WHOLE batch? That's got to be a pain, I think the eggs were rotten because the chickens haven't been mating lately much. I don't know how to put up a picture, haha.

    One hatched yesterday, all the rest out of 18 were duds. two were alive but accidentally got pipped to early and died.

    It took only a couple hours after the pip to the hatch, any name suggestions? Hatched at maybe 10 pm. I have to check if it's a boy or girl tomorrow.

    Should I keep spraying the eggs with water too keep up humidity? And I don't have a standard incubator, I only have a 100 watt bulb, a bix plastic box, and a cover with a couple small holes in it (small as in 2 inches). What else should I do ?     So an egg was completely black and my parents thought it was rotten. So I offered to open it up to show them (dumb thing). And when I opened it the membrane was all white and thick, so I just gently poked the egg, it squirmed. I freaked out and put the egg in the incubator with a warm wet piece...

    When's the latest time too candle a chicken egg, as in the day. And I gave my friend an egg and he said it took the egg about 6 weeks to hatch, knowing that eggs should hatch at around 21 days, is there anything wrong?
