2 week old chick not wanting to move around.

I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner. She RECOVERED completely! So I kept her self for a couple of days and just nursed her. Every couple of hours through the day I would hold her and let her drink her fill and eat and then she would get cozy in my hand. After about a day or so she actually started...

What did you do with your flock today?

Chicks first ever day outside! The weather here finally got nice enough today to let out babies explore the outside today. We brought them all to their new run and stayed with them while they played around and dug and ate. They were so darn cute when any one of them found a worm she would get SO...

2 week old chick not wanting to move around.

She didn't poop for a while after I moved her but she has now pooped several times and it isn't runny. Just normal chick poops. She also chirps very loudly about 30-45 minutes after I put her down, until I pick her up again.

2 week old chick not wanting to move around.

My daughter is doing a 4-H chick chain and we picked up 20 chicks on March 30th. They are all Isa Brown. 15 of them were a bit older, we were told "about" 10 days old, the other 5 were younger, we were told "about" 5 days old. They have been in a brooder that we bought and have all been doing...

What did you do with your flock today?

We were supposed to get Rhode Island Reds but the shipment was delayed to our local Rural King so we ended up with Isa Browns. They are SO friendly! They were more than happy to get up in our hands yesterday as soon as we got home. I believe they are a little over a week old, we asked the store...

What did you do with your flock today?

We just got our first ever chicks yesterday for my daughter's 4-H project. Even though we were worried they all seemed to be perfectly content over night in the brooder we bought. This is my daughter after school today hand feeding her babies, they seem more than happy to see her, especially...

    Hello from Tennessee

They are Isa Browns. We were supposed to get RIR but the shipment didn't come in so these were subbed. We bought a brooder from Tractor Supply and then afterwards read some bad reviews about it, however, my husband modified the brooder plate so that it is lower and so far it seems to be working...

    Hello from Tennessee

We have a covered run set up already, my hubby will be building the coop this weekend. We bought a brooder but upon setting it up I don't think it will be big enough after a couple weeks so we will be doing something different. I wish we could free range but we, unfortunately, have many stray...

    Hello from Tennessee

Hi everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jennifer and my family and I are going to be chicken owners tomorrow. My youngest daughter BEGGED us to participate in the 4-H poultry program. I'm not sure if it is the same everywhere but in our area that means she will be receiving 20...
