If you are willing to incubated and hatch them, you can get great basin canada goose hatching eggs at https://www.whitneycroft.com/product-page/canada-geese but get them ordered quick! They seem to sell out fast.
I am also looking for canada geese, so if you find some please let me know! I have been looking for over a year, I won't give up though. I am in southern indiana. I am willing to drive to get them. I hope we can both find them. Thanks!
Okay, so I have been convinced that these two frizzled Easter Eggers were hens, because of their lack of combs and waddles, demeanor, timidness, sounds, etc. However, there have been a couple of things that make me wonder if I'm mistaken, especially with the grey and black one. First is the long...
Here is an updated picture of one of them. I believe they are 13 weeks. It has a bigger comb and wattles than the one I am pretty sure is a hen, but they have mostly been pink and not red, and it doesn't seem as aggressive as I would think a rooster would be.
So, I originally thought that at least one of these two buff orpingtons was a rooster because of the size of the comb and waddles, but even at almost nine weeks old they just don't seem to show many if any "roostery" traits, such as how they act and carry themselves. What do you all think? Do...
Thank you. what had me concerned is that even the ones that look like they might be pullets have tail feathers that look kind of pointy to me. Here are some pictures right after they hatched.
Hi there! I just recently hatched a new batch of chickens with a mix of different breeds. Three of them are buff polish chickens. I am really hoping that I at least end up with one hen, but based on what I've read they all look like they could be roosters. I hope I'm wrong about that. I am going...
All, I am still very interested and would like to find a legal breeder as soon as possible so I can reserve a couple from next breeding season. Can somebody please help me out? I would appreciate it so much! I have been looking for months and still haven't found anybody.
It is just under ten weeks old, none of them are laying eggs yet and I'm guessing it is a rooster anyway, it seems to be eating and drinking fine, I mixed up some electrolytes, vitamins, b complex and probiotics in water for it after we noticed the issue, I felt around on it legs and feet and...
We came out to the chicken coop this morning and they all seemed fine, but this afternoon we put some garden scraps in the pin and discovered one of our white chickens in pain and when it stops walking it staggers backwards. I was hoping it was just bumble foot or something but it's feet look...
Hi! I have three geese that are about ten weeks old and I love them very much! I am still in the process of finishing their pin, so in the mean time we have them a pin set up in the basement, and we lay tarps down and take them out every morning and spray them while the geese enjoy the day with...
