I've used it and I think it's a good feed. I can't deal with the 40# bags though - it messes up my storage system too much and it kind of makes me latently angry that it's not easy to compare the pricing.
The Omega 3 fed to the chickens should increase the Omega 3 content of the eggs laid by...
This was a very long thread and only one post had any issue specific to Purina chicken food. I guess I'm happy about that.
I have no problem with people deciding to feed GMO free or organic or corn/soy free for whatever reasons suit them. I don't think blaming Purina for not accommodating...

Many very interesting pigeons... which I know very little about.

Another great Humboldt show - it's not the biggest show ever, but there are very nice, high quality, birds shown and it's just a terrific and family friendly place to go. The atmosphere is low key in a way that makes it for me much easier to talk to people and learn.
The Lions' Club was...
I know! I mean, I find it personally convenient to wash chickens in 77 F weather, but it is SO SO WRONG to have this on the north coast in February! Fortunately, the small reservoir that is the source for our irrigation water has filled.
If you want to get a sneak peek at the APA standard, it's possible your library system will have an older version. But, it is well worth purchasing. I would also suggest subscribing to Poultry Press, and doing long searches on the internet to find discussion and pictures of winning birds in...
Ha! I should have totally guessed they would be her Delawares. I too was preoccupied with pictures and letting my daughter take the lead of what to look at next.
I'm sorry we didn't get to meet in person! We're not even that far apart geographically In Real Life, and we've chatted back and forth at BYC often enough.
It's funny because I really intended to try and meet people and be social, but I never seemed to encounter anyone who wasn't actively busy...

From our drive home last year through Humboldt Redwoods State Park
My daughter will be showing, and I hope to have a couple of other kids from my 4-H group along. We had a lot of fun last year and look forward to going again this year.
Perhaps the best part is that it's easy to detour slightly on the way home and drive through some of the Redwood State Parks...
Thank you Walt, for all your time and patience answering questions here, and also for your work in putting together the show. We enjoyed the new venue, and my daughter was thrilled over the moon to get on Jr. Champion Row with her Silver Laced Wyandotte.
This show has a whole section of junior activities. In the past, it has been in a separate building, but maybe at this facility it is in the main building? I'm not certain. There is a judging contest, an open book quiz on the APA standard, showmanship, and Avian Bowl. Showmanship requires...
Cottage Gal, it's hard to know how old they will be when they start to fight. It will be longer if there are no females with them. You can probably get to six months fine, and after that you're kind of on borrowed time, but it could be many months of borrowed time.
If you are going to breed, I...
