HELP!! Swollen, gurgling crop - feels like a balloon

My 2 (or so) year old Dominique, Pauline, has been lethargic for a couple days. I finally caught her this evening. Her crop is HUGE and not hard, more like a balloon, and making gurgling sounds like a hungry stomach. She must've had this problem for a few days, because she's pretty skinny now...

    Bright green sticky poo

Ugh. Crop is empty; she still has the green pasty poo, but ate a few bites of various treats throughout the day. I got some Sulmet today and got it diluted properly, too bad I can't figure out exactly how much she needs in 24 hr. Hopefully my vet can provide some insight. Thanks for the...

    Bright green sticky poo

usschicago1, actually Betsy's poo is BRIGHT green! I got her to eat a couple bites of yogurt into which I'd mixed .5 cc vitamin drops, and she doesn't seem any worse, maybe *slightly* perkier. Why can't chickens talk?! It's as bad as having a sick baby!

    Bright green sticky poo

Yesterday I noticed my 2 year old Buff Rock, Betsy, hadn't left the coop all day, and when I went to speak to her I realized that she was lethargic and had been passing bright green pasty poop. I've separated her from the rest of the gang. Betsy's comb & wattles are still bright red, her skin is...

Can I interest anyone in a jerk of a rooster? Montgomery Ward is a lovely 2 year old Polish crested roo with a crossed beak who was nice enough as a youngster, but has become outrageously aggressive. I'm reluctant to advertise locally for fear that he may become an unwilling participant in...

EC, JennsPeeps, While I'm waiting for things to sprout and get established, I surround my garden with a temporary chicken wire & tomato stake fence. Once everything is growing well, I take the fence down and let the chickens in - they keep the slugs down, and they love to hang out in there...

    Crossed beak

My roo, Montgomery Ward, has a very crossed beak so the food & water has to be in a deep dish that he can stick his whole face in. Periodically I trim his beak with nail clippers, although I'm realizing I need to get one of those thingys you trim dog's claws with. I'm careful to snip just a...

Ugh, I take back all the bad things I said about the snow! I'd rather have snow than flooding. About the DE: I mix a little in with the chickens' feed and fluffle some into their straw on the floor of the coop. My first 2 chickens came to me with lice, which required treatment with Frontline...

    Hens look terrible!

Mine look bad, too. Nobody's sick; they've been staying in their coop due to the weather which seems to have given them short tempers, and I've noticed some feather snatching. They were looking a little scruffy prior to that too, so I think it's just the season.

OK - me, the cats & the chickens are officially tired of the snow!! The chickens won't step outside the coop and the cats are holding me personally responsible for the weather. At least I'm getting paid snow days from work!!

Wondering if cats are ok with free rome chickens?

I've never had a problemwith my cats. Even the neighborhood strays leave the chickens alone. My meekest hen will run a cat off.
