Take a look at this from "Animal Breeding" by A. L. Hagedoorn if you are serious about doing this the right way. Most people do not understand or take into account that Punnet and Peace were not the only ones on the block working in this...

Once you had a male like the one in the pic, you would have to keep breeding back to pure RIR females... as that male is single barred and hence unpure for barring,,,, He would not breed pure... it would be sorta like breeding blue....

Hi hope all are doing great.. If you had a Rhode Island Red Judge look at these males and females... what would he say to you about type... not color and anything else just body type... I must be wrong but what I have read about the breeding of Rhodebars is they are nothing more than a Rhode...

Hi... hope you are doing great... what I have been told and read in many different places over the years is you need to get a male from a breeder not a big big name hatchery.. that is the only way you will get a male that is calm... or one way... hope this helped
