Their run is about 6 feet wide by 10 feet long with no option of raising it, so I guess sand will be the key here. Just bags of play sand, right?

She is getting around like it is no big deal. I don't see anything wrong with her foot so far but I am definitely going to keep my eye on it. I put a roost outside last night and she was up there in no time, hanging out with the rest of her peeps.
