I got a new hen a couple of months ago. She laid 1 egg the day after I got her then didn't lay again for a month. Since she laid the second time she has been laying consistently. However some of her eggs have this weird black stuff in them when we crack them. What is it? Is the egg still ok to...

    What on earth...

I haven't taken them outside yet, because the other day it was sleeting and the ground is all soggy. I do let them roam in the living room sometimes.

    What on earth...

The waterer is a foggy plastic. And the only place she pecks, is the label, where there is a tiny drawing of a chicken.

    What on earth...

I got 3 new chicks a few days ago. One of them pecks everything. She will NOT stop pecking at the waterer. It is so weird. I've never seen a chick do it.

    still no eggs

One is a black sex link, the other is a red sex link. I feed them the layer feed from atwoods. I'll have to get recent pics up. The ones I have are from a few months ago. I'm not sure how much they weigh. Holding them. I'd guess about 4lbs.

    still no eggs

My ladies will be a yr old in March and they have still never laid any eggs. They are fed and watered regularly. I give them fresh bedding every other day. The coop is insulated so they aren't too cold. What could be wrong? I live in southwest Missouri, where normally it gets pretty cold. But...

    question??

Yes, I've had them on layer since the end of July. I have 3 sex links and a cochin. My silkies, Mille Fleur and the random girl are younger. They are only about 4.5 months. I live in Missouri. It's always sunny here. I do have their coop in the shade though bc it gets really hot here.

    question??

Ok, my oldest chickens are 6 months old and have not showed any indication of laying any time soon. Any suggestions to get them up n running?
