    Administering worm medicine

If it's NOT *just* round worms I should dose once per day for 5 days--or still just ONE time and then follow up 10 -14 days? Is that safegard really that effective that they only need it once and then agin one more time in 10 or so days? And how do u feel about wazine17 first, and then follow...

    Administering worm medicine

She is concerned about the coop floor and the droppings. She has a smaller coop/run. I guess there is a tray under the roost that she can empty daily... But the floor in the run is Grass/dirt. Does she have to spray down the run, pick up poop and discard it... I mean, if she doesn't, will this...

    Administering worm medicine

I know there is so much info out here on worming...almost too much to sift through. My friend's chickens have round worms. I know she can treat with wazine...but I'd rather her use safe-guard 10% goat suspension or even valbezen. Because her chickens aren't used to being handled, can she...

Fowl pox treatments? WARNING: GROSS PICS

Early on, back on the first page of this thread it says that hen#2 immune system was compromised by lice infestation and cocci, is that as a RESULT of the pox--or was that BEFORE the pox? Are the chickens susceptible to anything else because of the pox, or did they get this as a result of...

    Combining quail flocks

Yes...they are Courtnix. I'm not sure the exact ratio of male/female yet. I just know there are at least 5 males based on color and crowing so far. I will watch for over breeding and too many males. Will separate as needed. Thanks for all your help.

    Combining quail flocks

We are kind of new to quail. I have 4 females and I think one male (although he makes no noise yet and he is plenty old enuff) in a brooder pen,; in another pen I have 20 younger quail (about 3 weeks younger) various sexes (at least 4 males, they are making male calls). I'd like to combine...

Coturnix Quail Basics- Information and Pictures Galore

I probably need to read about that, I had gotten the impression from another post somewhere that quail and chickens shouldn't be close. . The quail cage is on the other side of the yard from my chicken pen, probably a 100 feet or so. However they are in a breeding pen that had chickens in it...

The chicks were all together. I moved them out of the brooder into a closed coop. I had another flock previously in that coop that had just started laying, so I shifted everyone around. I had cleaned the coop but obviously not well enuff. Because within 3 days I had a 6-week old acting...

I posted yesterday that I had a couple 6 week old chicks w cocci. I have the main population on corrid as well as the two isolated chicks. After 3 full days on corrid they are so much better. Eating and drinking and chirping away. The main population appears to be fine, no new illnesses. All...
