    Chick with cut foot has red streak up his leg now. Antibiotics?

    We've a chick about a week old that cut his foot off a broken bottle. I've been soaking it in epsom salts and iodine. I've also been giving him homeopathic remedies for cuts and punctures. I think she may be needing to have some antibiotcs. What can I give her? And how much? Honey

    Salmonella outbreak at Mt. Healthy hatchery (where we got our chicks)

    Just read that Mt. Healthy has had an outbreak of Salmonella. Would that effect the chicks? They've had poopy buts for awhile but I've been cleaning them off but should I worry? I've been having the kids wash after handling them and me too (following common sense). I know it's natually found...

    6 day old chicks with squishy lump on right side of neck...HELP!

    We've 100 Cornish Cross,50 Rhode island reds, 50 barred rocks, 25 golden comets, 50 buff brahmas and 25 buff orpingtons. They are eating a commercial starter mixed with oyster grit, raw milk and a wee bit of yogurt. On day 3 I noticed diarrhea in about 4. I worried about coccidios (spelling)...

    What would the perfect coop and run have?

    Hi! I've been lurking since around November and I had one question for everyone who has designed their coops and runs..... In your opinion, what would the perfect coop and run have/look like? If money, time & effort were not an issue....what would your setup look like? Honey
