thank you for the replies. I had given him a water dish which was deep enough for him to drink from (atleast 2.5cm I found out it needed to be). I don't have 'chicken crumble' is this a type of feed? I use layers pellets constantly, is that OK for the chickens? I tried crumbling these pellets up...
Two days ago, there was a pigeon limping alongside the road, I pulled over to watch it. Soon it was knocked into the centre of the road and cars were driving over the top of it, (missing him just). I stopped a car, (and received rolling eyes from the driver) so I could pick him up.
He seems...

Oh! I really hope so! The brown one is a hen for sure, which is why I thought the cuckoo was male because the wattles and comb had grown bigger faster, (not sure how it works, they're my first chickens) She/he looks a lot like your chicken, mine is only 14 weeks old though? haha, i'll...
I hope so! The white one is the only one who is crowing so far, I hope it stays that way as well. I may have to rehome (somehow) the white one if it upsets the neighbors, so hopefully if he goes the cuckoo roo wont start to crow!
After a day of squabbling, they'll always be sat together at the end of the day (':
and here's Shinx and Lucario sleeping (:
Are they roosters yet? They're 14 weeks old, so are they still just roos? I thought 'roo' meant young male chicken like 'pullet' means young female chicken, or...
Thanks for the replies!

These photos alone have made me want an orpington! D: Love the chick at the table They look so relaxed about being handled, i'm very jealous! I held mine as chicks all the time hoping it would make them tamer but they hate being touched at all. And chickens...
My four chickens, hope it's OK if I just share some photos,
In a tree, here they are about five weeks..
Lucario and Lugia, the two roos,
Lucario, Mudkip and Shinx (:

I think that they are all marans, I did some research and found that marans dislike being touched...
Thank you for the replies

Sorry, they're quite poor photos but her legs are visible.
Googling the marans breed,
I am pretty confident that this is what she is,
so thank you (:
Just tried taking a photo and failed, it doesn't look like anything from the images.. but I've done some research on the crop, it's slightly to the right side of the chest, so i'm pretty sure that's what it is, thank you for replying! Has he just eaten too much? This website suggests I don't...
hey all, I have two pullets and two roos, this morning when I let them out of the coop, one boy, Lucario, didn't want to go out. I changed their water and the other three came and drank some but he didn't and I brought them oats which they go crazy for and he wasn't interested in that either...
Thank you for all replies!

I don't think that she is a welsummer because I looked at welsummer chicks and they are striped, Shinx looked like this as a chick:
Sorry, this is the third time i've asked this but they are about 2 months old now and I think it's easier to tell what breed they are (:
I'm positive of the sexes, but I have not a clue of the breeds of these first two here...
The eggs were labeld as mixed pure breeds!
Lugia, Roo (has already...

Oh no, I thought so... would they get on okay if they have been raised together since hatching? And are they more likely to crow if there's the two of them?
Quote:
ah I hope not, she's/he's the calmest... ):
Thank you though ^^
eggs were labeled as mixed pure breeds,
Lucario and Oddish, (everyone was pretty sure Lucario is barred rock roo but not sure about Oddish)
Oddish, i'm really hoping pullet, so I can keep them all

Nice pics, and neat names. I might have to steal some of those . . .

They are four weeks old, eggs were labeled as mixed pure breeds.
Oddish, Mudkip, Shinx and Lucario.
Here's Shinx, who is the easiest to handle,
Oddish, who is mostly white with random grey feathers in the wings and tail, also has quite a few feathers on the feet.
Mudkip, who really...
