Any advice/info/experience on using plastic bags as insulation? I'm starting to build coops/pet houses to sell and it would be nice to use cheap "green" recycled material for insulation.
I have access to a LOT of big plastic bags at my job that are just getting thrown in a dumpster right now...
The roosts are overflowing so I've got to thin out the crowd!
I have 5 roosters and 3 hens available, all the roos are free and the hens are 5 dollars each. It would be nice to keep the groups together but I can split them/mix them up if you want.

There's a whole silkie flock for sale--3 roos and 9 hens, several different colors, have to stay together. I'd take them but I don't have the room!
I'm a vegetarian, and the protein from my chicken's eggs is a big source of protein for me. But I get so sick of the taste of cooked eggs! I want to eat more of them, without diluting them too much into baking or some other recipe that just has a few eggs in it...it's got to be something that is...
I've got a Hova-Bator, the picture window one with three vent holes in the top, two of which have red stoppers in them. Is the middle hole above the fan enough for ventilation, or am I supposed to open the other two? I've got the 2 stoppered up, worried there's not enough air getting in/out.
I set two thermometers in my Hova-Bator and get 104 on the heating coil side, and 97 on the other side. The thermometers read the same temp outside the incubator, so it's not the thermometers. I'm worried that only a few eggs will be at the right temp, and all the rest will be too hot or too...
