I love this! I have a spreadsheat that keeps track of every $ spent on the flock. it includes everything from day 1: brooder, coop construction, upgrades as well as feed etc... I am also keeping track of just the coop construction cost. :)
It is going to be a bit windy but not as bad has it has been. On a bonus note the sun is shing. Going out to do some coop work. Got to get these girls in their coops! Wish us luck!
Did you house all 3 of them together? I housed my male and female bbr together but i am reading that the bbw males should be housed together and females separate. I am guessing I have 2 males and 1 female but obviously wont really know for awhile. We are building their coop as we speak and need...
Just waiting for some less windy days so we can do some more work to this coop, these babies have way to much energy and just want to go! Tomorrow they will be 3 weeks. Hoping tomorrow is nicer out! This brutal cold is not productive!
This is good to hear. I always had bourbon reds and they followed us around all day and were always on the move. I keep reading that BBWs are lazy and over eat til they reach an unlivable health. How old are yours?
Do you monitor how much food she gets or do you have food accessible all day? i see different ways people try and mot let them get so big they have to be culled.
Mar 2: They are getting bigger. Chicks learned to roost on feeders and try to fly. They graduated to a top put on the coops. My nephew saying goodnight to his turkey “Ernitt”
