What size trashcans, will hold a 50 lb bag of feed

Agrees with @imnukensc that plastic can be breached by rodents, so not a great choice.
I use a 30 gal metal can, stored inside coop shed and out of the weather:

Be careful not to put new feed on top of old. Old feed will lay in bottom and get stall. Need to rotate the stock.

As a former High School aged Stockboy, I was taught to always rotate the stock. That's why I have two metal garbage cans. I leave the feed in the bag and put the bag in a can. When I open the last bag I buy another bag of feed for the empty can.

I like some breathing room in the can as well. I get the medium cans at tractor supply..

Can I see the cans you purchased. i want a tad breathing room as well
