Just a place to post our adventure's in raising our flocks. This is our second time around. We raised 15 chickens and 2 turkeys for quite a few years about 13 years ago. We built coop after coop to fit the needs of our birds. We then homed a dog that just couldn't live with the flock so we made the tough decision to stop raising chickens/turkeys. Our baby Girl macey past in June 2023. We have decided once again to raise Chickens/Turkeys. We are starting from scratch since we got rid of and tore down everything. We will be sharing our adventures of starting over hear with you all.

Feb 22. Our order of 9 chicks and 1 turkey poult arrived vis the mail. The chickens were frozen. So so cold. 1 was dead on arrival. Within 48 hours we lost a total of 7. They actually sent 10 chicks and 1 turkey. We are left with 3 chicks and 1 turkey. Not a good experience. We will never order online again.

Feb 23: We went to Tractor Supply to pick up a few more chicks. The guy refunded us for our chicks that didn’t make it. That was a bonus we didn’t expect. We got 8 chicks. They actually had turkey poults, i was shocked. I have never seen them sell them in store. We got 2. We decided to put them in seperate coops.

Feb 23: We received a playpen from a friend so we upgraded the chicks brooder.

Feb 24: We received another playpen so the Turkeys got an upgrade

Feb 24: we installed a camera so we can watch them as they are in the cellar

Feb 26: Meet and Greet. My mother passed in November and we adopted her dogs. We will be slowly introducing them. Supervised only.

Feb 27: coop 2.0 Day 1: starting their forever homes. We are doing this by hand, as cheap as possible and without levels. Lol made with love not perfection.
