    Ducklings Dying

I will have to set up a waterer with a bigger base like that one. I have a cover on mine but I lowered the lamp to below it to warm up the wet ones. The cord became unplugged so it fell. It is a big bin with a cover and heat lamp, food on one corner and water in the other. I usually have...

    Ducklings Dying

So, I hatched 7 call ducklings this week. They were all fine last night, but I found out this morning they had spilled all their water into their newspaper and paper towel bedding. Three were down and wet, on their backs. One had died, and another one died a half hour later. The other seems to...

I had a dozen on day 26. None hatched by day 28 and I couldn't see them very well candling. By day 29 I decided to help some, thinking that they were way overdue. Call duck pricing

I live in New England. I sell mine for between 20 and 40 per bird depending on quality. I have some whites from the Dave Touchette line. Around here the go from 60 to 100 a pair. My ducklings usually go from 10 to 25. Some extremely high quality call ducks can go up to 100 and even past that.

    Call Duckling Colors???

Ok, I have 5 duckling call drakes, almost mature (about 5-6 months old.) when they were hatched, two had grey feet and darker bodies, and 2 were blue fawn colored, while one was pastel. Now the blue fawn and what I thought were greys (because of the darker feet) look very similar. I was...

Call Ducklings Due Soon, Need Help!!

I have a blue fawn call duck hen sitting on eggs due to hatch any day now. She is in a pen with another female and a drake. They seem to get along but should I move the drake and the other hen into a different pen so she can raise her ducklings solo? Will the male do anything to them or is he ok...

Pastel vs. Blue Fawn Call Ducks

What is the difference between a pastel drake and a blue fawn drake? I have a few ducklings, 4 are pastels, one is 5 weeks old and I can already tell that it is a male, but it doesn't look like any of the blue fawn ducklings the same age. I think the pastel and blue fawn adult drakes look the...

So I found out that the hens are also not OEG, and the male is possibly the same breed as the hens but we think he is a cochin mix.

I am trying to decide between a trio of Buff Cochin bantams and a trio of Splash Cochin bantams. I was wondering which color would be better for showing and more valuable/rare for selling. Any advice?
