She is normal besides the leg issue. Eating and drinking fine. Feces are normal and no other symptoms. I will try the vitamins and keep everyone posted.
I have a 4 month old pullet who has started acting like her legs can't hold her up. When she does try to walk she is bowlegged. Nothing has happened trauma wise that I know of. Does anyone have any idea what I could do to help her?
I had that problem with my very first batch of shipped eggs. They came from about 4 hours south of me and took 5 days to get to me. None hatched. Now I ordered some from PA (I'm in IL) and they got here in 4 days but the box was damaged. I feel your pain.
I live in such a rural area the...
I was wondering if I could do the stuffed animal thing, although Chicken Little spends very little time in the brooder. LOL. Between my hubby and I and the dogs it is getting lots of snuggle time.
Watching the Walking Dead last night:
Playing on the bed today in it's room:
So out of my dozen eggs only 2 hatched and one of those died. I found out my thermometer was not accurate even though I just bought it, calibrated it like I was supposed to but I digress.
So I have 1 baby chick. Pipped on Friday and is now in a makeshift brooder in the house where it can...
Well 2 hatched but one died. So we have Chicken Little who is a tough little bird! And is also slowly becoming a "hoodie chick". I feel so bad it's the solo baby. I did not put it out in the brooder in the garage. Chicken Little is currently set up in a nice aquarium in the extra bedroom...
Milla is a 14 month old working line shepherd from Czech lines:
Kya is my almost 13 year old American showline shepherd:
And then there is Phinneas, he just kind of ended up here as a 3 week old orphan. Not my breed but he is the "man" of the house. As you can see he has it rough:
When everything you see can be transformed into a chicken coop, or brooder, or nesting box.
When friends text you and say "I want to get chickens, what do I need to do/get/buy"
While I'm partial to GSDs (only breed for me) what are you wanting out of the dog? Companion only? Any type of work? What is your family's lifestyle, are you active or hang out at home watching movies type of people?
Well today is day 21! 7 of my 13 BLRW eggs I had shipped that were lost in the mail were duds. A couple candled funny so I left them in there. Of course all 6 of my home grown ones seem to be fine. I haven't hatched chicks in 20 years so I'm going by instinct alone. I'm glad I have to work...
I have to make leg braces for that chick
Let me clean up that pasty butt - even funnier when your city boy husband says it!
stop pooping in your waterer
stop pooping on my head
I have to go home and check my eggs.
The chicks were fast outgrowing the brooder and we were planning on having another batch of chicks soon so hubby designed a brooder and it is finally finished. This is a fantastic brooder with 2 rooms and lots of space.
We used:
2-sheets of 4X8 1/4" plywood
9-2X4X8
1/2 roll of 1/4 gauge...
I tried with this little guy but it was to late. He was always smaller but last week we had to go out of town suddenly for a funeral and my pet sitter must not have noticed (not that I am blaming her). I just didn't get to him in time.
I wish you luck with yours! Let me know how it turns...
