I only have 7 hens. Is it worth it to vaccinate? Where do you get the vaccine?

I have a 1 year old mutt hen. She is white with a few black specks. She recently went through her first full molt and now she is grey or taupe colored. Is it normal for chickens to change colors when they molt??? Very weird!!!

Ok guys...I clipped my 3 naughty hen's wings. I went by the general concensus and only clipped the right side. I clipped the 10 flight feathers to just a little shorter then the back feathers just like the diagrams and pictures I found showed. The first few days they did not fly over the fence...

Update!! The white one crowed this morning!! It was so cute. Very tiny crow compared to full size roos. But Im disappointed because I cant keep roosters. Im waiting on the splash one to crow, I have a feeling she may be a he!!

Yes, the two in question are more aggressive towards eachother. They chest bump and kind of do that stare down thing where they get low and look at eachother. The white one seems to be the dominant one. The little red/buff one will just stand in the corner while the other two "duel."

My hens think small snakes are a treat! They catch and eat them!

Thanks! Yours is beautiful too! They are so much fun! The problem is that my grown hens dont like them very much. So I would like to get another female is these two end up being roos. It is tough to wait!

UPDATE!!!!!! I have 3 silkie babies. They are 12-14 weeks old. I have read about streamers on male silkies. I believe I see streamers on 2 of the 3 silkies. Also the little buff/red one is smaller then the other two. What do you think??? I am a newbie, thanks for your advice. The white one...

I have the same concerns as Secretchicken. I want to put sand in the coop, but my chickens are diggers and Im afraid it will end up sand and dirt mixture. How deep should the sand be?
