I lost my girl tonight. Thank you to everyone who gave me some suggestions.

Does anyone think it might be her crop? It feels soft and mushy, like a water balloon...is this normal? I've read several posts on it but am really not sure if that is the culprit and I don't want to flush it out unless I know for sure that's the problem...

I checked and I don't *think* she is. I have her in a dark box on some towels with a heat source under her to relax her a bit. She's taking a mixture of yogurt, yolk and water but for the most part, she just huddles down and closes her eyes.

At the most, maybe 2 days. I don't even know if the bumps on her foot are related to the lethargy or not. The blisters are somewhat firm but they don't look infected at all..no pus or anything of that sort.

One of my girls is very lethargic right now and I wanted to know what I need to look for to diagnose her properly. I know it's not heat, since its been foggy here lately. What do I need to look for and what steps do I take to get her feeling ok again? Any input would be appreciated. thank you!

Hi - one of my EE's (she is my most consistent layer) laid an egg today that had some blood on it - it was dried by the time I saw it. Is this just a once - off or should I be concerned? thanks for your help!

What does that mean exactly? I've heard that term before, but thought it just meant that she would sit on her eggs longer. She's about 16 months old right now - does it typically happen around now?

My RIR Hen has been hiding in the coop all day and is not showing any interest in food - one other RIR is acting the same but she is out and about. Slightly runny poops but they both seem to be drinking water. Should I be concerned (I already am) and what steps should I be taking to diagnose her?

I was worried they were doing that too - so i have been keeping them in the coop until late in the afternoon, thinking that if they haven't done anyting by then, it probably wasn't going to happen. But I think I will do a close inspection of the backyard in case that's been happening.

I moved my RIRs into their sweet new coop (about a month ago) and they started laying right away - 2 a day and on occasion 3. In the past week tho, one of them has stopped laying. I don't think she is egg bound, everything seems normal with her and I have not made any changes to their diet...
