So about 3 months ago, 2 of my neighbors took my 6yr old daughter to the "ville" here in South Korea, well a box of cute little yellow and brown chicks caught her eye...little did I know they thought it would be funny to let her pick out 4 chicks to bring home and SUPRISE me with...what a great...
Welcome...I am a newbie too, came to the world of chickens a month or so ago as a joke from friends!! I love my birds now..I own 4. I knew nothing and just researched, read what I could, and found all the pics that I could to make it move smoother! The chicks most important thing is keeping them...
I live in South Korea and after my friends gave me by peeps..as a joke....I was given some kind of feed for the chicks from a Korean woman that owns a chicken farm...they are about 2months now...when do they go onto regular chicken "pellets" which is what I can buy over here? I want to be sure...
Wish I had helpful input..when we were given ours...we played with them everyday took them outside everyday..but we limited everything remembering that they were tiny babies...They loved to sit with me snuggled in a towel and be kept warm...we used a work light..because we were not prepared as I...
I had no idea that chickens could eat food scraps from the kitchen...is there anything besides chips, popcorn, cereal and pizza..haha?Can you serve fruit to chickens..I saw a pic on the site where the chickens and rooster looked as if they were eating some type of melon?
So agree...when my chicks were given as a joke..they were in a korean orange box..now they are in a small coop that is more like a rabbit hutch that my husband and 3 girls built as a suprise one weekend...they are already too big for it...I wish I knew the exact age...they are really ugly right...
Hey Janie...welcome to the sight...I come on all the time but my first post was today..I currently have 4 hens and 1 rooster...I think! I have no idea what they are either...good luck with that..I am hoping someone can help with what Korean Chickens I have when I can put a pic up!!
I am new to the BYC!! I was given 4 chickens as a funny prank...3 roosters 1 hen...In the month since the number grew to 11 as we lost 1 to natural causes..3 to my lab...and 2 roosters to a friend..as I live in South Korea and in a house with a small yard..so they are free range and I don't want...
