I am in south San Francisco which is closer to the airport they are still available and no problem about the rooster I found someone who is able to take him
I have 4 chicks (2 ee girls 1 ee cockeral and a welsummer girl) all born 10/18 they are still inside in my brooder under the heat lamp but they free range almost everyday in my yard for an hour or so the I just ended up with to many chicks from my last order
i second the sand method, i have about 6" of sand covering the run, i found it to drain much quicker dry out much better and even when wet sand is not nearly as dirty as mud
so this is my first attempt at building a chicken coop its not 100% done but I'm relatively happy with it so far it is 8x6 and the coop is 3x6 (please excuse the mess in the garden it is time to rip up the fall stuff and plant the winter greens)
for those of you wondering why i have the redwood...
I would love to get a couple real ameraucanas from anyone in the bay area who breeds them if anyone is a breeder or knows of a breeder please let me know
