I found what was killing my flock... me

My goal was a simple one; a beautiful, green, lush front lawn. I purchased a bag of weed and feed that was on sale from my local hardware store and set myself to work. My chickens were safely tucked away in their coop and 24X24 exterior closure, a great distance from my half hearted attempt at...

    blood in the stool?

I have found blood in the stool at the bottom of the roost. I am concerned this is a serious issue. It is only in one spot so I am assuming only 1 chicken has the issue at this time. Is this a parasite? If so how do I treat it? Thank you for your help.

Chickens are pecking at another chicken

I went to check water and food tonight and found the chickens had cornered one of the other chickens and were pecking at it. The chicken would run away and they would chase after it and peck it in the back again. I grabbed the chicken that was being abused and seperated it from the flock for...

2 of my young chickens have their mouths open a lot today

They look like they are breathing hard. I have been treating them for worms, because it has been a concern, but we also had a thunderstorm. I am thinking Gapeworm. Anyone know how long they need treatment?

    Are my Hens, roosters?

I am worried that 4 of my 6, 8 week old chicks are roosters. I asked and payed for pullets, but the comb and wattles on 4 of the chicks are MUCH larger than that of the other two. Is it too early to tell? Do they start crowing soon?

I have one chicken that is left out from the rest and does not seem to be very accepted by the others. When they roost at night they all roost on the same spot, but 5 of the chickens sit tight together and the 6th is left out to the side. They are all 8 weeks old and have lost their down...

The comb on 3 of my 6, 10 week old chicks are bent

I am new to backyard chickens and I have a concern that my chickens have a disease. Is a bent comb something to be concerned about? They are eating and drinking well, and 1 seems to have light stool, but is acting fine. Any suggestions?
